About this place
Perched on the 3nd floor of Asukayama Museum, Cafe Virtue is an easygoing cafe spot that can be reached directly via elevator without an exhibition ticket. For a sweet pause while exploring the park, the standout offering is the ohagi set—an uncommon sight on standard kissaten menus. The gently sweetened bean paste and soft, distinct grains of mochi rice harmonize naturally with freshly brewed coffee or tea. Ohagi can also be purchased in packs of 2 to take away, making them a handy treat to enjoy in the park grounds or bring home as a small souvenir.
For a midday meal, the lunch selection kicks off at 11:00. The savory offerings lean into comforting rice plates, including hearty hamburg steak curry, hayashi beef, and a distinctive black curry enriched with black sesame and dark muscovado-like brown sugar, alongside pasta choices such as meat sauce and genovese. A smaller children's curry suits lighter appetites and young visitors, while an early morning set served between 10:00 and 11:00 caters nicely to whichever hour you arrive.
Drinks feature classic green melon soda alongside colorful variations like blue soda and matcha cream floats. Ordering and payment are handled up front at the counter before you take a seat, and transactions are cash only.
